Social skills and pragmatic intervention involves teaching children exactly how to interact with and interpret the world around them. I believe that social skills training needs to be as functional and realistic as possible.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About Me - About Reyhaneh.</image:title>
<image:caption>I am currently based in the Bay Area and am licensed to support clients in California, Massachusetts, and internationally. I entered this field and became a speech language pathologist (SLP) because I believe that language is our key to connection. Language is the anchor with which we communicate and voice ourselves…and each and every individual has a right to be heard. They may, simply, need some additional tools to get there. I graduated from the University of Washington with my Masters in Speech Language Pathology; this program is ranked in the top five for SLP programs in the United States. After my Masters, and with a desire to serve communities that had limited access to services, I moved to Shanghai and worked as an SLP for four years in a private special education program, various clinics, and public and international schools. I regularly offered community-based trainings to educators and parents and also delivered professional accent modification services to staff at international companies. I have experience working within the public education system in the United States and have pursued additional trainings to better understand the IDEA (Individual with Disabilities Education Act). I am a strong advocate for educational equity and am passionate about helping families know their rights in the educational process. I am also highly engaged in the American Speech and Hearing Association, where I currently serve on the Cultural and Linguistic Diversity Topic Committee. I believe in a holistic intervention approach that supports the client’s specific communication needs and incorporates their personal goals, dreams, and their community around them. I thrive off building tools that increase and improve an individual’s participation in society and help them connect to their family and friends. I also love parent education and make it a part of my everyday practice. In my free time, I am a community activist for social issues, enjoy spending time with my niece and studying Spanish and Mandarin. With creativity, integrity, and a heightened sense of justice, I am committed to providing my clients with the highest standards of intervention and training.</image:caption>
